"Jewelry takes people's minds off your wrinkles." - Sonja Henie
I've been an artist since I could hold a crayon and paintbrush.
I created a 'logo' for my future business
(not really knowing what a logo was at the time)
somewhere between the age of eight and ten ... perhaps younger.
It was a hot air balloon. I remember it pretty well.
I've been thinking about re-creating the image.
Please stay tuned.
I dreamt of becoming a fashion or interior designer and thought about attending art school -
Otis College of Art and Design, Parsons School of Design or Rhode Island School of Design.
I believe one is born to be creative but, perhaps, my beautiful mother was a bit of an inspiration.
She was a costume designer/seamstress for the first Dinah Shore and Perry Como Show
and she used to sew most of my clothing when I was in elementary school.
Growing up I balanced creativity with sports so I was quite the active one … always in motion.
And when I was still, I loved sitting in front of my fish tank staring at the movement of my little friends.
Water and fish brought me such peace.
Becoming a pro tennis player was, also, top-of-my-list career choices, having played tennis from the age of five.
I continued to play tennis through my juniors, was a member of the USTA
and was a member of the women's tennis team in college.
After college, I worked in the sporting goods world, modeled skiwear for a nanosecond and
thought about launching a career in sports - behind the scenes.
Not long after, I tripped into the world of advertising and marketing and never looked back
... having put my dreams of a career in tennis, sports and art on the back burner.
My creative side was reborn in 1999 when I began designing jewelry following a family tragedy.
Revisiting my creative side was the best therapy.
It all began with a small Moonstone on fish wire necklace and has evolved to what my designs are today.
Over the years, artistry took a backseat to my analytic career but, today, I'm back to creating new and unique collections.

Because of my holistic beliefs, I’ve created an environmentally friendly approach to product design
by rescuing high-quality materials that are left over from premium good manufacturers, as mentioned.
Reclaimed leather and exotic skins used are up-cycled from old handbag factories, out-of-business
private airplane upholstery companies, furniture manufacturers and clothing designers –
focusing on AZO, chrome free, REACH compliant material.
Additionally, I use recycled sari silk from women’s co-ops in Nepal and India.
This is very important to me because up-cycled products conserve Earth's resources and helps others.
I incorporate other eco-friendly/recycled material into my designs whenever available such as handmade organic leather hides -
chrome and lead free dyes made here in the U.S. 100% natural and free from chemicals.
